Can my doctor refer me to Orthotic Active?
Yes, you can be referred by your doctor, a public health doctor, a private medical specialist, ACC, or you can refer yourself.
What is an orthoses?
An orthoses is an external device that is used to improve mobility or aid injury recovery. That includes items like insoles and braces for all body parts.
What is an Orthotist?
An Orthotist specialises in the field of Orthotics. An Orthotist is a medically trained expert who helps patients in need of an external device to aid their recovery or to increase their movement.
Do I have to buy a ready made orthosis?
We have access to the largest range of orthotics in New Zealand. But if you have a more specific need then we also manufacture complete custom solutions for individuals.
How are your insoles different to the ones I can buy at a chemist?
We stock a large range of high quality orthotic products including insoles. They are medical grade from the best suppliers nationally and internationally. We also offer individually crafted 3D insoles specifically printed for individuals based on a biometric gait analysts t our Gait Track.
What are your 3D insoles made of?
Our 3D insoles are printed on a multi directional 3D laser printer. They are made from high grade ultralight Polyamide and are designed to last 3 times longer than conventional insoles.
What is the Gait Track?
Our Gait Track is a technologically advanced assessment of your foot’s biomechanics. It uses high speed cameras, pressure plates and expert analysis to examine the way you walk or run. Our Orthotists can then determine is you need supportive insoles to correct your gait.
