Anton began his career as Orthotist & Prosthetist in 1995, after qualifying from the University of Technology in Pretoria, South Africa. He ran a private practice from 1996 until he moved to New Zealand and joined Orthotic Active, and has a keen interest in biomechanics, particularly relating to sports injuries and the prevention thereof. His other passion has always been prosthetics and adding to the quality of life after having gone through the trauma of an amputation.
Anton has been utilising all the latest technology available in the fields of orthotics and prosthetics to maximize the outcomes for patient treatment and evaluations, such as digital force plates and high-speed camera analysis. Being actively involved in endurance sports such as Ironman triathlon has given him the advantage to apply this to the everyday athlete, high-performance athletes as well as the clinical patient’s treatment.
The culmination of all these elements and experience in the field allows for clear evidence-based outcomes being created, within the patient-centric environment.
