How Does Gait Analysis Work?
The great thing is that you can undergo biomechanical analysis right here at Orthotic Active. With our state-of-the-art Gait Lab technology, we simply need you to walk (or run) across what looks like a simple mat on the floor.
But it is not just any mat!
It is actually a force plate combined with two high-speed cameras that record up to 500 frames per second. It analyses the exact movement of your feet and how they align with the rest of your body when you move. Based on that analysis, we can create a custom insole engineered specifically for your feet and your feet alone.
What Are 3D Printed Insoles?
3D printing is no longer in the realm of science fiction, but it is helping healthcare surge forward in leaps and bounds, just like your sporting performance could!
3D printed insoles are made from high-grade ultralight Polyamide and are designed to last 3 times longer than conventional orthotics. They are designed around the 10 anatomical zones of your foot, each printed in a specific direction to correct your gait pattern. Each zone is printed at a different stiffness of rigidity according to your feet and the desired outcome, which makes them totally unique to you.
The insole itself is manufactured on a multi-directional 3D laser printer in Belgium. The technology is so advanced that there are currently only 3 of these printers worldwide! The distance does not equal a delay though. Your insoles will be available in New Zealand in just over 2 weeks from your appointment.
